Trisdee na Patalung
Trisdee na Patalung (b. 1986) began his musical education at the age of 13 before being ‘discovered’ at 15 by composer and conductor Somtow Sucharitkul and soon afterwards became Bangkok Opera’s resident repetiteur. He has appeared as solo singer, concert pianist, harpsichordist, accompanist, orchestra member, composer and conductor, as well as behind-the-scenes work as repetiteur and chorus master, and is currently Bangkok Opera’s resident conductor.
As a composer, he has written several chamber works and two symphonies, which have both been performed under the composer's baton. His most recent composition Eternity, written in memory of the late Princess Galyani Vadhana of Thailand was performed at the Thai royal cremation ground in 2008.
His operatic conducting debut in 2006 in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte brought him to the attention of a wider musical world. He works extensively in Amsterdam for the Netherlands Opera Studio as conductor and resident coach. He was music director of a staged performance of Handel's oratorio Belshazzar directed by Harry Kupfer, as well as a performance of Monteverdi’s Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda at the Concertgebouw, and has just completed a highly acclaimed engagement as conductor at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Italy with Il viaggio a Reims.
His most recent performances as an opera conductor include Britten's Rape of Lucretia at the Hanoi Opera House, Charpentier's La Descente d'Orphée aux Enfers at the Concertgebouw, the Steyr festival's production of Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, and Bangkok Opera's productions of Purcell's Dido & Aeneas, Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor and Salieri's Prima la musica poi le parole.
Of Trisdee’s conducting of Die Zauberflöte, UK’s OPERA magazine said, “If the word ‘genius’ still has any meaning in this age of rampant hyperbole, Trisdee is truly a living example.”
ทฤษฎี ณ พัทลุง เริ่มศึกษาดนตรีเมื่ออายุ ๑๓ ปี ได้รับการ‘ค้นพบ’และสนับสนุนโดย สมเถา สุจริตกุล เมื่ออายุ ๑๕ ปี จากนั้นไม่นานจึงได้รับหน้าที่ผู้ฝึกสอนนักร้องประจำคณะมหาอุปรากรบางกอกโอเปร่า และได้ร่วมงานอย่างใกล้ชิดกับบางกอกโอเปร่าเสมอมา โดยปัจจุบันทฤษฎีทำหน้าที่วาทยกรประจำวงดุริยางค์สยามฟิลฮาร์โมนิค
ในฐานะผู้ประพันธ์ดนตรี ผลงานชิ้นเอกของทฤษฎีได้แก่เพลง ‘นิรันดร์’ หรือ Eternity คีตาลัยถวายแด่ สมเด็จพระเจ้าพี่นางเธอ เจ้าฟ้ากัลยาณิวัฒนา กรมหลวงนราธิวาสราชนครินทร์ ผลงานชิ้นนี้เป็นหนึ่งในดนตรีที่ร่วมบรรเลงโดยวงดุริยางค์เยาวชนแห่งประเทศไทย ในช่วงพระราชพิธีพระราชทานเพลิงพระศพ ต่อมา ในวโรกาสที่สมเด็จพระเจ้าภคินีเธอ เจ้าฟ้าเพชรรัตนราชสุดา สิริโสภาพัณณวดี ทรงเจริญพระชนมายุ ๗ รอบ พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๒ ทฤษฏียังได้อัญเชิญบทกล่อม พระราชนิพนธ์ในพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว มาประพันธ์ดนตรีใหม่ขึ้นในชื่อเพลง ‘พระหน่อนาถ’ เพื่อทูลเกล้าถวายเป็นเครื่องเฉลิมพระขวัญอีกด้วย
ทฤษฎีอำนวยเพลงในมหาอุปรากรครั้งแรกเมื่ออายุ ๒๐ ปี ในมหาอุปรากรเรื่อง The Magic Flute ของ Mozart นิตยสาร ‘Opera’ แห่งกรุงลอนดอนได้กล่าวถึงการแสดงครั้งนั้นในบทวิจารณ์ว่า: "If the word 'genius' still has any meaning in this age of rampant hyperbole, Trisdee... is truly a living example."
ทฤษฎีเดินทางไปทำหน้าที่วาทยากรในต่างประเทศอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยในปีพ.ศ. ๒๕๕๒ ได้รับเชิญไปอำนวยเพลงในมหาอุปรากรโดย Rossini เรื่อง Il viaggio a Reims ในงานเทศกาล Rossini Opera Festival ณ เมือง Pesaro ประเทศอิตาลี และด้วยความนิยมของผู้ชม จึงได้รับเชิญให้กลับไปอำนวยเพลงในเทศกาลดังกล่าวอีกครั้งหนึ่งในปีนี้ ต่อมา ทฤษฎีได้รับโอกาสไปอำนวยเพลงในสหราชอาณาจักรกับวง Royal Scottish National Orchestra และยังไปอำนวยเพลง Messiah ของ Handel กับคณะนักร้องประสานเสียงและวง Haydn Orchestra แห่งประเทศอิตาลีอีกด้วย
ในปี ๒๕๕๓ นี้ ทฤษฎีได้ไปอำนวยเพลงในมหาอุปรากรของ Rossini เรื่อง La Cenerentola (หรือ Cinderella) โดยได้รับเชิญจาก Nationale Reisopera ไปแสดงใน 12 เมืองทั่วประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ และยังมีกำหนดการในอนาคตไปอำนวยเพลงกับวงดุริยางค์ในต่างประเทศต่างๆ อาทิ Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai, Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini รวมถึงวง Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali และ Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi ในปี ๒๕๕๔ อีกด้วย
